Preschool aged kids love to play. They enjoy rules and challenges, and games certainly have these! This is also a great age to start introducing academic games to dive deeper into educational content. In Hatch Kids, we have a whole section for academia, where kids can learn everything from dinosaurs to human biology and all the way to our solar system!
Playing more serious games together with your 6+ year old is the ideal way to learn, for both of you! Discussing the topics you’re learning about, and asking more questions, and maybe google a little info on each interesting dinosaur, is a handy way to digest the information. Who knows, maybe this is where the first spark lights up that leads to a career of a scientist!
We also recommend giving a go at building games where the child has a chance to get creative and practise 3D thinking. Try to create working contraptions in Bad Piggies with crates and balloons, it’s not easy, but super fun!
